MUTUAL POKERS RECORDS

Games with mutual pokers

In the French league game Lyon vs Montpellier on 7 May, a player of each side has scored a poker: Alexandre Lacazette for the home side and Elie Wahi for the away one (Wahi netted his four goals within just 15-minute gap, from 40th to 55th minute, single-handedly changing the scoreline from 1-0 to 1-4, but it was eventually not enough even for a draw!)
The “mutual pokers” is a very rare event in the top level football. In the French league history, this happened for just 2nd time.
Here we list such occasions (pokers from both sides) occurred in the strong European leagues.
The Hungarian case in January 1955 is especially remarkable as it happened in the game of two national leaders, MTK (renamed then to Vörös Lobogó for a short period) and Honvéd; the pokerists were the world class players (Hidegkuti and Puskás), and finally, the score 7-9 is just unbelievable for football. In Hungary, this game is considered the craziest of all time. Perhaps, it is craziest for the world football overall!
