THE TOP DEFENDER
Rebekah Stott , New Zealand’s Top Defender, has signed for Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Women's Super League this year 2020. She's the latest in a growing list of Football Ferns playing in England, that includes Ria Percival at Spurs, Erin Nayler at Reading and Meikayla Moore at Liverpool.
Papamoa-born Stott leaves the W-League in Australia with two titles, scoring twice in the just-completed 19/20 season from the heart of the Melbourne City FC defence that conceded just five goals, and took the title after a dominant season.
She is the Top-Defender for the New Zealand women's national football team (71 international caps). At 27, Stott previously has already played for Australian W-League teams Brisbane Roar, Melbourne Victory and Melbourne City as well as German Bundesliga team SC Sand and Sky Blue FC and the Seattle Reign in the NWSL (USA) with also some months in Sweden with Avaldsnes IL.
She was crowned sovereign by IFFHS as THE BEST WOMAN PLAYER 2020 in OFC !
