MARTA THE ICON

Brazilian Marta Vieira da Silva (Orlando Pride/USA) is recognised by the IFFHS as THE BEST WOMAN PLAYER IN CONMEBOL 2020. At 34, Marta is an icon of Brazilian's women football and has been at the highest level for more than a decade, with her scoring ability and participation in the creation of offensive attacks. The Iffhs has valued both, the performance in the year and all her contribution to the development of the game not only in her country but also in the competitive soccer circuit of the United States. In any case, the distinction that she grants is fully deserved. Marta won the FIRST EVER IFFHS Award of THE WORLD'S BEST WOMAN PLAYMAKER in 2012. 8 years later, she won the second IFFHS Trophy of THE BEST WOMAN PLAYER IN CONMEBOL 2020 before Christiane Endler, Chile's wonder Goalkeeper and Deyna Castellanos, Venezuela's great striker.
