FC Barcelona crowned by IFFHS as The World's Best Club of the First Decade
The outcome of Club World Ranking of the 1st Decade of the 21st Century is similar to the European club rankings for the period 2001-2010. It was only a question of which places would be occupied by the South American top clubs. South America’s Club of the 1st Decade CA Boca Juniors Buenos Aires takes the 10th place in the global ranking (2001-2010), and São Paulo FC 13th place. Among the “Top 10” are four English clubs, of these three take places 2 to 4. Over ten years relatively close lead (27 points) is FC Barcelona the World‘s Club of the 1st Decade of the 21st Century ahead of Manchester United FC, the “Reds” from Liverpool and the “Gunners” from London.

“Inter” Milan, FC Bayern Münich, Milan AC, Real Madrid CF and Chelsea FC of London complete the “Top 10”. Among the “Top 100” are 68 clubs from Europe, 26 from South America, four from the CONCACAF area and two from Africa (at 73rd Al-Ahly Cairo & in 98th place Espérance Sportive de Tunis). The best-placed Asian clubs in the Club World Ranking of the 1st Decade (2001-2010) are Al-Hilal FC Riyadh (175th), Pakhtakor FK Tashkent (182nd) and Al-Ittihad Club Jeddah
(190th); while Oceania’s Club of the 1st Decade Auckland City FC takes the 790th place. Among the “Top 100” in the world the following countries have the most clubs: Brazil (9), Italy (8), Germany (8), Spain (7), France (7), England (6), Argentine (5), Mexico (4) and the Netherlands (4).
