PRESENTATION
Patricio Sabastian Galaz, born 31 December 1976 in Santiago, has played 12 matches with the Chile National team between 2004 and 2006, took part at the 2004 Copa América and won his greatest individual Trophy in 2004, the IFFHS Award of THE WORLD’S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER !
At youth level, Patricio played for Regional Atacama and for Chile at the 1993 FIFA U17 World Championship. He was centre forward and began his professional career with Atacama (8 matches, 4 goals) in 1996 before joining Universidad Catolica (6 matches, 2 goals) and CD Antofastaga (5 matches, 2 goals) in the same year 1997. After Coquimbo Unido (20 matches, 5 goals in 1998), he realised a great season with Palestino (55 matches, 24 goals) in 1999/2000. The next step brought him to CD Cobreloa where he spent four years (2001 to 2004). It was in Cobreloa that Galaz became a great international goal scorer, scoring 72 goals in 147 matches. In 2004, he was Chile’s top goal scorer (42 goals) , won the Chile Primera Division 2003 Apertura and Clausura and the Clausura 2004, also the IFFHS Award of THE WORLD’S BEST TOP DIVISION GOAL SCORER.
He went to Mexico and Atlante FC, where he scored 23 goals in 53 matches between 2005 and 2006. Universidad de Chile was his next team in 2007 (26 matches, 8 goals) and after Nublense in 2008 (9 matches, 3 goals), he returned to Cobreloa in 2010. He scored there 4 goals in 16 matches and retired later from football.
