RECORDS IN COPA LIBERATORES

Super-fast Brazilian goals in Copa Libertadores

Flamengo’s forward Pedro (picture) has scored in a Copa Libertadores quarterfinal vs Estudiantes (2-1) on 18 September a goal just after 15 seconds from kick-off.
It is the second-fastest goal in the competition history from the quarterfinals onwards, Only Kaio Jorge scored at this stage earlier, 11 seconds into the game, for Santos against Grêmio, also in the quarterfinals, on 16 December 2020.
Pedro surpassed by far the previous Flamengo's record in Copa Libertadores (at any stage) that belonged to Gerson Santos da Silva (56 seconds against Bolívar on 15 May 2024).
A month ago, on 14 August, another Brazilian, Botafogo’s striker Artur (full name Artur Victor Guimarães) found the net after only 15 second as well; it happened in the round of 16 vs LDU Quito (1-0).
Pedro’s and Artur’s goals became joint-fastest in Copa Libertadores this decade.
Also, they enter top 10 of the whole history of competition and top 4 in its knockout stage (see the table).
The absolute record is held by Peruvian Félix Suárez, who scored on 4 April 1976 the 1-0 for Alianza Lima just 6 seconds into the match against Independiente Santa Fe.
Two goals from top 10 are own goals (they are marked).
