ROBERT LEWANDOWSKI THE 5TH
Lewandowski, the 5th Barcelona player with 40+ goals in a season
Robert Lewandowski became the fifth player in Barcelona history to score 40+ goals in a season (in all official competitions). He finished the 2024-25 campaign with 42.
The first to achieve this was Mariano Martín in 1942-43. The second such scorer (Ronaldo) had to wait more than half a century.
Then came the era of Messi, who exceeded the 40-goal mark for 10 consecutive seasons.
Notably, Lewandowski managed to accomplish this feat at the oldest age (36 years 231 days).
Also, RL9 became the first player to score 27 goals in a La Liga season at the age of 36+ (Ferenc Puskas netted 26 at the age of 36 in 1962-63).
Just in the last game of the season, Lewandowski reached the landmark of 100 goals for Barcelona (in 147 competitive matches over 3 seasons).
