CHAN 2024 kickoff with impressive 2/0 Tanzania win.

One of the hosts, Tanzania drilled Burkina Faso with outright domination to win 2/0 before a boisterous homecrowd at the Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Dar es Salaam Saturday. 

It took three minutes of stoppage time of the first half for Abdul Suleyman Sopu to convert a penalty following a Mzize crash in the box. Algerian referee, Loutfi Bekouassa later required a 74th minute VAR goal check to validate the header effort by  Hussein who raised tally to 2 in his first-ever international goal in the colors of the Taifa Stars. As Tanzania celebrated their first victorious CHAN opener in three participations, their player, Salumfei Toto (PICTURE) caressed the MVP award.

Dubbed TotalEnergies CAF African Nations Championships KE. TZ. UG 2024, for it is a historic hosting by three countries, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, the competition continues Sunday with the following three games: Madagascar vs Mauritania, Kenya vs DR Congo, Morocco vs Angola.
