Free kick scorers at World Cup both for clubs and nations
Lionel Messi (picture), scoring a direct free kick for Inter Miami against Porto, joined a group of players who have scored a goal this way at both national and club World Cups. Messi previously scored a free kick for Argentina against Nigeria at the 2014 World Cup.
He became the 5th such player in the history of football, the first being Fernando Hierro 25 years ago.
