SERGIO RAMOS THE OLDEST GOALSCORER !

Sergio Ramos: new oldest scorer in Club World Cups

Sergio Ramos has become few hours ago the oldest player to score in Club World Cup history.
The Spanish centre-back did it for Monterrey vs Inter (1-1) at the age of 39 years 80 days, surpassing the previous record of Javier Zanetti from the edition of 2010.

*Amazingly, this tournament has just started but already 4 players inscribed their names in the top position of the CWC ranking for oldest goal-scorers (see the table).
Top 3 places in the ranking belong only to centre-backs now.

*Besides, Sergio Ramos is the first defender in football history to score in 3 editions of the Club World Cup (also 2 goals in 2014, 1 in 2018).

*Ramos has scored in both of his career matches vs Inter, both via headers off corners (also in the Champions League in 2020).

*It was Ramos’s 147th goal in his career. More than half of those goals (74) have been headers.
