50 FOR FABIAN RUIZ

Fabián Ruiz: the first to achieve 50-game unbeaten run in Ligue 1

After PSG's 1-0 win over Angers yesterday, Fabián Ruiz not only became the French champion (6 rounds before the end), but also the first player in the history of the French League to play 50 matches in a row without defeat (40 wins, 10 draws).
The last time the Spanish midfielder lost in the league was almost 2 years ago, on 30 April 2023 (1-2 to Lorient). Since then, PSG have lost 3 times, but Ruiz was out of the squad in each case, that eventually led him to a record streak.
The previous longest run in Ligue 1 was held by his current team-mate Marquinhos: 48 games in 2014-16.
Marquinhos is currently on a new streak of 40 games, along with his other teammates. Four of them are going on a current individual streak of over 40 games (also Vitinha, Warren Zaïre-Emery and Gianluigi Donnarumma).
All of them didn’t take part in the match against Toulouse (1-3) on 12 May 2024, the only league game PSG have lost out of their last 57 matches.
Remarkably, in parallel Ruiz is developing his other amazing streak, with the Spanish national team, where he has not lost a single one of his 37 games (holding the world record for the number of caps among all players who played for the national teams without losing).
