LONGEST CL UNBEATEN RUNS

Longest CL unbeaten runs in all confederations

On 3 January 2025, CAF Champions League title-holders Al Ahly Cairo finished a 27-game unbeaten run in the competition after shocking away defeat 0-1 to Chabab Belouizdad of Algeria, the opposition that was smashed by the Egyptian club with 6-1 score at home just couple of weeks before.
The streak became the new record of longest run without losing in the history of CAF Champions League. Al Ahly took it over from Esperance Tunis (21 games). Their 27 games comprised 19 wins and 8 draws between March 2023 and December 2024.
Al Ahly missed just 2 games to equal the similar feat of Auckland City who remained unbeaten in OFC Champions League within 29 consecutive games from 2014 to 2019. It still stands as the biggest achievement of such kind for all 6 confederations.
The records for this category in each confederation (regarding Champions Leagues and its analogues) are compiled in the table.
Notably, Manchester City also stumbled recently in the main UEFA competition being close (26 games) to the global record.
As for Auckland City, they are developing now a new unbeaten streak (22 games at the moment) with a prospect to update soon their own record.
