PRESENTATION 

 

 

Born on 28 february 1947 in Germany, Aaron Schmidhuber was one of the World’s best referees in the 90′. He was Bundesliga referee between 1980 and 1994 with 143 matches in the highest German League and was FIFA Referee twelve years long (1982-1994). His highlights : two World Cup matches 1990 in Italy, one UEFA Euro match in 1992, 26 international country matches and more than 100 international club matches, the UEFA Super Cup final Porto – Ajax in 1987, the UEFA Cup final 1990 Juventus – Fiorentina and the consecration : the UEFA European Cup final (Champions League) 1991/1992 between FC Barcelona and Sampdoria Genoa.

 

1992 was his year : he was crowned by IFFHS as THE WORLD’S BEST REFEREE succeeding to the brazilians Filho (1987) and Wright (1990) , the French Vautrot (1988 and 1989) and the Danish Mikkelsen(1991).
