IFFHS WOMEN’S WORLD BEST REFEREE 2024 – REBECCA WELCH
After 5 consecutive IFFHS Awards, Stephanie Frappart took only the second place in 2024, beaten by England’s Rebecca Welch, crowned as Women’s World Best Referee 2024 ! It was very close between the two referees (118 – 104), Rebecca Welch made the difference, directing the UEFA Champions League final and being regular all the year in her performances. Frappart did’nt beat the record of Pier Luigi Collina (6 consecutive World Best Referee Awards). Sweden’s Tess Olofsson completed the podium with important 94 points, before US Referee Tori Penso (second last year) and the newcomer, Morocco’s Bouchra Karboubi, jumping at rank 5 ! If the UEFA is represented on the podium, all other Confederations took place in the Top 10, CONCACAF with Penso and Garcia, CONMEBOL with Alves, AFC with Yamashita and CAF with Karboubi and Mukansanga.
