IFFHS WOMEN’S WORLD NEWS AND STATS
- The international women’s football week ended yesterday with the EURO 2025 qualifications games and many international friendly games.
- THE RECORD – England played a friendly game against USA in Wembley stadion in London where 78 346 spectators took place for a big game (0-0).
- Brazil won two games in 4 days in Australia, Amanda Guttierez (17 goals in 2024) was the winner player for the brazilian team.
- Switzerland registered a new record attendance for a women’s national team game with 17 306 spectators in Zurich.
- Germany won their friendly game in Switzerland with a great performance and a great birthday gift for Cora Zicai. First match, first goal the day of her 20 years !
- Spain realized a new demonstration, scoring five goals against , two for Vicky Lopez, one of the favorites for the IFFHS Youth World’s Best player 2024 and four goals in France !
- 40 189 spectators (RECORD) took place in Estadio do Dragao of Porto last Friday to see their national team for the first match against Czech Republic ! Kika Nazareth scored the hope goal for Portugal before the second match, where Portugal won and qualified for the Euro !
- Caroline Graham Hansen was successful with Norway (2 goals) in Ireland and confirmed her great year 2024, qualifying with Norway for the Euro and scoring her 50th goal for her country.
- Poland made History ! For the first time, they qualified for a great competition, winning their two games against Austria. Ewa Pajor, the forward of FC Barcelona and IFFHS Top 5 World Goal Scorer, scored the winning goal in the last minute !
- Wales also made history, qualifying for their first major tournament ! An outstanding achievement for the team where Jessica Fishlock, the Legend of Wales women football, can be so proud.
- Other qualifications for Sweden, Finland, Belgium and Wales. The EURO 2025 in Switzerland (2 – 27 July 2025) is ready with 16 teams : Switzerland, Germany, Spain, Iceland, Denmark, France, Italy, Netherlands, England, Belgium, Poland, Finland, Portugal, Norway, Sweden and Wales.
