Atlético Madrid’s historical UCL win in Prague
Atlético Madrid's 6-0 away victory over Sparta Prague yesterday became one of biggest wins achieved by visitors in the history of Champions League (the table below).
*It is their new biggest ever away win in any European competition. Before this, the largest in the club history was 5-0 against Erciyesspor (Turkey) in the 2007-08 UEFA Cup, under Javier Aguirre.
*It is also the joint-biggest away wins by any Spanish teams in the Champions League history, along with Real Madrid’s 6-0 vs APOEL in 2017.

*The most prolific Atlético Madrid's away game in European Cup/Champions League before was 5-1 vs Drumcondra (Republic of Ireland) on 1 October 1958.
*Considering all Atlético Madrid's games in the European Cup/Champions League, there were 2 similar “goleadas” at home: 8-0 vs Drumcondra in 1958 and 6-0 vs Celtic in 2023.
*During the Diego Simeone era as a coach (since 2011), Atlético Madrid have won an away official match in any competition with 6+ goal difference for the third time, after:
