Copa Libertadores: statistics on semi-finals 1st leg (23-24 October) 

Atlético Mineiro vs River Plate 3-0

*Paulinho (PICTURE) reached 14 goals with Atlético Mineiro in Copa Libertadores and is now the club's second top scorer, only behind Hulk who scored 16.

*Franco Armani became the player with most games played for River Plate in Copa Libertadores (71), surpassing Leonardo Astrada's 70 games.

Botafogo vs Peñarol 5-0

*This is Botafogo's second biggest victory in the history of Copa Libertadores, only behind the 6-0 against Aurora on 28 February 2024.

*Peñarol lost by 5+ goals in Copa Libertadores for the first time since 17 March 2011 (0-5 vs Liga de Quito).

*Jefferson Savarino scored the first goals by a Venezuelan in the Copa Libertadores semifinals since Yeferson Soteldo (for Santos against Boca Juniors) in 2021.

*Savarino is the first Venezuelan player to score a brace from the quarterfinals onwards in the Copa Libertadores.

*He is the first player born in Venezuela to score 2+ goals for a Brazilian team in a Copa Libertadores match.

*Botafogo is the first team to score 5+ goals and to win by 5+ goal margin in a Libertadores semi-final since Flamengo (5-0) against Gremio in 2019.

*This is 7th occasion of such a large score in last stages (semi-final and final) in all CONMEBOL competitions (see the table below). 
Peñarol were losing side in 3 of those 7 cases.
