THE YOUNGEST SCORERS IN EUROPEAN HISTORY

UCL youngest scorers: Yamal “only” 2nd

Lamine Yamal (picture) has re-written many age records for various categories but still not managed to become the youngest scorer in the history of Champions League.
His goal for Barcelona vs Monaco (1-2) on 19 September is only 2nd in the all-time ranking of competition. Ansu Fati’s record of 17 years 40 days stood up under Yamal’s impact.
Lamine was a bit late with opening his tally in UCL; he did it at 17 years 68 days.
No surprise that both highest places in the ranking belong now to pupils of famous Barcelona academy. Notably, of 19 players who ever scored in the top European club competition before turning 18, not less than 5 did it wearing Barça’s jersey.
However, counting different teenagers to score for a club in Champions League, Barcelona (13) is still slightly behind Ajax (14) in that.
Back to Lamine Yamal, he has now made more Champions League appearances (11) than any other player in the history of the competition before 18th anniversary. He surpassed Jude Bellingham, Youri Tielemans and Warren Zaïre-Emery (10 each).
Also it’s worth to note that with his goal vs Monaco, Yamal has scored in two consecutive games with Barcelona for the first time.
