IFFHS Men’s World Best National Top Division Goal Scorer 2024 at 31 July: Martín Cauteruccio
The leader in the IFFHS category of best national goal-scorers in 2024 has been changed again.
The Uruguayan striker Martín Cauteruccio (picture) scored a hat-trick on the last game of July for his club Sporting Cristal in the Peruvian league and leveled the Chinese forward Wu Lei who scored 23 goals for Shanghai Port in his native league.
Now Cauteruccio has 23 as well; he is placed on top above Wu Lei as his league takes a higher position in the IFFHS leagues’ ranking.
Cauteruccio has already topped the chart earlier this year (in February). Notably, the mentioned hat-trick is already his 5th in 2024; no one else in world top football has done as many so far.
