Rodri equals the world record!

The Man City midfielder Rodri equaled the world record for longest unbeaten run in club football across all competitions.
This record is held together by two Milan players from the brilliant era of the late 1980s - early 1990s, Paolo Maldini and Demetrio Albertini. Both were unbeaten in 73 consecutive club matches.
Natably, Albertini’s series dates back to the very beginning of his senior career. Because he was not given in Milan much time to play at first, his streak lasted more than 4 years, from 15 January 1989 (the date of his debut) to 18 April 1993, when he finally suffered his first defeat (1-3 to Juventus). The last match in the series was a draw with Inter (1-1) on 10 April 1993. (His performances in D2 for Padova in the 1990-91 season are not taken into account).
Rodri's streak now also stands at 73 games, after Man City’s 2-0 win over Tottenham last night.
He will have the chance to break the record of two Italians on 19 May, in the last round of the Premier League, when Manchester City meet at home West Ham.
