Statistics on Champions’ League group stage round 4 (November 7)

*The 6-0 win over Celtic became the biggest for Atlético Madrid in their history in UCL and 2nd biggest in all European competitions after the 8-0 vs Drumcondra in the 1958 European Cup.
The 5-0 vs Malmö in 2014 was the largest win of “Colchoneros” in Champions League before.

*Overall, it was 5th game of Atlético Madrid in the major European competitions when they scored 6+ goals. The last such “goleada” happened in 1992 (6-1 in Cup winners’ Cup).

*Antoine Griezmann (Atlético), a double-scorer vs Celtic, has netted in 3 consecutive Champions League games for the first time in his career.

*It was 100th game for Griezmann in the European competitions (91 in UCL, 8 in Europa League, 1 in Super Cup).
His breakdown by clubs: 8 for Real Sociedad, 16 for Barcelona, 76 for Atlético.

*Atlético have won their last 16 games at the new stadium Metropolitano (14 in La Liga, 2 in UCL).
It’s their 2nd longest winning streaks at home in official matches, after 20 victories in a row between 2012 and 2013 (at Vicente Calderón)

*For Celties, it’s the 2nd heaviest defeat in UCL, along with the 1-7 from PSG in 2017.
Only the 0-7 from Barcelona in 2016 was heavier.

*Barcelona have lost to Shakhtar (0-1) for the 3rd time in UCL, after 0-2 in Donetsk in 2004 and 2-3 at home in 2008.
Only 4 clubs have beaten Barça more times in the Champions League: Bayern (10), Milán, Chelsea and PSG (4 each).

*Robert Lewandowski (Barcelona) didn’t score in any of his last 6 games for Barcelona in all competitions (4 in La Liga, 2 in UCL). He has last found the net on 23 September vs Celta.
It’s his worst such streak in the club career since a 10-match draft with Borussia Dortmund between December 2010 and February 2011.
With Poland, Lewandowski has the similar series (6 matches without scoring) in 2016, during the Euro.

*Ciro Immobile's winner against Feyenoord (1-0) is his 200th goal for Lazio in all competitions. He is the first player in the Lazio history to reach this milestone.

*With the 2-1 win vs PSG. Milan have finally ended the worst streak of any Italian club without scoring in the history of the Champions League (5 consecutive matches, including the last two of last season).

*Rafael Leao who was just the player to stop this Milan negative streak did it by overhead kick.
He became the first “Rossoneri” player to score in UCL such way after Philippe Mexès feat on 21 November 2012 vs Anderlecht (he performed his overhead kick from outside the area!).
