Copa Libertadores: statistics on quarterfinals (23-25 August)

*German Cano who scored for Fluminense (2-0 vs Olimpia) took the sole lead in the IFFHS contest for the world’s best goal-scorers in 2023 for the first time. He has 31 goals now leaving Erland Haaland behind (30).

*Bolívar (0-1 at home vs Internacional) have ended their streak of 29 consecutive home games in Copa Libertadores with scoring goals.
The last home game when they failed to find the net is dated by 27 January 2011 (0-1 vs Unión Española).

*Bolívar have lost just 3 of their 16 home games in Copa Libertadores against Brazilian clubs (vs Grêmio in 1983, Palmeiras in 2020 and Internacional in 2023) in South America's top club competition.

*The Palmeiras 4-0 away win over Deportivo Pereira is just 3rd occasion in the Copa Libertadores history of 4+ goal difference away win in the stage of quarterfinals.
Two previous precedents are Universidad de Chile vs Millonarios 0-6 in 1960 and Nacional vs River Plate 2-6 in 2020.

*Boca Juniors (0-0 vs Racing) have accumulated 9 consecutive games without wins in the knock-out phase of Copa Libertadores (8 draws and 1 loss).

*It took 15 games for Racing to keep a clean sheet as a visitor in a knockout phase of Copa Libertadores. The last time was against Nacional, in the final of the 1967 edition.

*Among 6 teams who reached the quarterfinal stage of Copa Libertadores 10+ times, 3 are taking part there now: Boca Juniors (16), Palmeiras (12) and Olimpia (11).
The others are River Plate (17), Grêmio (12) and São Paulo (11).
