-       Amanda Ilestedt (PICTURE), Sweden’s central defender, scored a brace to account 3 goals (all head goals) in the competition, helping Sweden to an impressive 5-0 victory over Italy.

-       Sweden lost only one of their 12 last Group World Cup games (8 victories, 3 draws).

-       Sweden is number 3 in the World, being Olympic Champion, Euro winner and World Cup finalist one time and at the third place 3 times ! 

-       If Caroline Seger became the only Sweden player in the History to play 5 World Cups, italian Giulia Dragoni became the youngest italian player ever to play a World Cup at 16 years and 259 days.

-       Italy conceded their highest defeat in History despite of an excellent beginning, the 25 first minutes where they dominated Sweden.

-       A header from captain Wendie Renard (35th goal for France as Central defender !) (PICTURE with Selma Bacha) gave France an important win against their biggest group rival. She nearly missed the game due to an injury …

-       France has now won 7 of their 8 last games against Brazil (1 draw) and preserved their all time unbeaten record against the South American .

-       Eugénie Le Sommer is back ! Just months ago, the nation’s all time leading goal scorer hadn’t play for the national team until the sacking of Diacre. New coach Hervé Renard brought Le Sommer back in the squad, she scored today her 90th international goal for France.

-       Brazil’s captain Debinha scored her first goal ever in a World Cup, it was her 137th international cap !

-       French young talent Selma Bacha was back today after her injury, and showed one time more that she is one of the most important players for France. Her assist for Wendie Renard’s goal was excellent.

-       Allison’s Swaby header (PICTURE) gave Jamaica hopes of reaching the knockout stages for the first time in the History !

-       It is the first win ever for the Reggae girls in a World Cup and means also that a draw against Brazil would be enough to qualify !

-       Kadisha Shaw , who received ared card against France, was missed in the jamaican team, where Jody Brown made a great game.

-       At 19 years, Emily Cedeno Coba is one the youngest player in the Panama squad.

-       With two defeats in two games, Panama is already eliminated before their last match.
