PictureEdin Dzeko became the 11th player to score in the Champions League (including European Cup era) semi-finals for 2 different teams, along with Dieter Müller, Savicevic, Cocu, Zidane, Park Ji-Sung, Morientes, Shevchenko, Fernando Torres, Cristiano Ronaldo and Lewandowski.

*Milan and Inter met for the 5th time in European competitions; “Rossoneri” suffered the 1st defeat after being unbeaten in all the previous games (2 wins, 2 draws).

*For the first time in the history of the Derby della Madonnina, Inter managed to beat Milan in 3 different competitions (Champions League, Serie A, SuperCup) within a single season. 

*For the 3rd time in the history, Inter beat Milan 3+ times in the same season, after 1973-74 (4 times) and 1994-95 (3) campaigns.

*Inter achieved the third earliest 2-0 lead in a Champions League semi-final (10 minutes 16 seconds) conceding just 1 second to Juventus vs Manchester United 2-0 lead in 1999 and Manchester United vs Arsenal 2-0 lead in 2009 (both at 10 minutes 15 seconds).
In total, it is 4th case of 2-0 lead in the opening 11 minutes of a Champions League semi-final, including also that of Manchester City vs Real Madrid in 2022.

*Inter became the first team with 2 players aged 34+ (Edin Džeko and Henrikh Mkhitaryan) to score in the same Champions League knockout stage game.

*Džeko is the 2nd oldest player (37 years and 54 days) to score in a Champions League semi-final or final, behind only Ryan Giggs who scored for Manchester United vs Schalke on 26 April 2011 aged 37 years and 148 days.

*Milan are the team with the best semi-final performance in the history of the European Cup/Champions League (they passed 10 of the 12 occasions).
In the meantime, Inter reached the final in 5 of their 8 semi-finals in Europe's top competition.
