ENGLAND THE FIRST

England have beaten Brazil in a penalty shootout after drawing 1-1 in the inaugural Women's Finalissima, a match between the European and South American champions in front of more than 83000 spectators in Wembley Stadium !

Manchester United's Ella Toone capped off a beautiful team move to open the scoring for the Lionesses in the 23rd minute. While England dominated the first half, Brazil came out very strong after the break, creating several chances but failing to score.

The South Americans finally broke through in the third minute of second-half injury time as Andressa Alves slammed the ball home after goalkeeper Mary Earps spilled a cross. Each goalkeeper made a save in the shootout but after Arsenal's Rafaelle hit the bar with her penalty, Manchester City's Chloe Kelly scored the decisive goal, just as she did in extra time during the final of last summer's Euros.
