THE 11TH HAT TRICK SCORER AT NOU CAMP

Karim Benzema: 11th hat-trick scorer at Nous Camp

Karim Benzema became the 11th player in the history to score a hat-trick against Barcelona at Nou Camp. He made it in the 2nd leg of Copa del Rey semifinal (4-0).
The first to do this was Luis Aragonés in 1961, playing then for Oviedo; the second, 2 years later, Ferenc Puskás, who was the only Real Madrid player before Benzema to accomplish such a feat.
The only player who scored a poker at Nou Camp is Milinko Pantić. Curiously, despite his 4 goals, his team (Atlético Madrid) lost the game. Moreover, this is the only case for a team whose player scored 3+ goals at Nou Camp finishing as a lost side.
For Benzema, this is the 2nd match with a hat-trick in 4 days. Now he has 17 goals in all tournaments the current calendar year. He caught up with the world top scorers’ leader Marcus Rashford.
