*Joao Mario (Benfica) converted in the game vs Club Brugge (5-1) another penalty, for the 5th time this season. He became the first ever player to score 5 penalty goals in the same edition of the Champions League (the ranking is below).

*Benfica is the first Portuguese club to score 7+ goals in a European Cup tie (2-0 and 5-1), from the round of 16 onwards, since Benfica themselves did so against Honved (Hungary) in 1989.

*Chelsea eliminated (2-0) a team (Borussia Dortmund) that had won all 10 previous games, in all competitions, in 2023.

*Chelsea have won 5 Champions League knockout stage ties after losing the first leg (0-1 vs Borussia): the joint-most in the competition's history (along with Barcelona, Juventus and Real Madrid).

*Chelsea’s starting XI was their 2nd youngest (25 years 255 days average) in a Champions League knockout game, after that vs Bayern Munich in 2019-20 (round of 16 match, 2nd leg) where it was 25 years 236 days old.
