The 31-year-old forward from Cape Verde, Ricardo Gomes (full name Ricardo Jorge Pires Gomes), has scored the most goals (35) among the players representing the CAF countries in 2022, all for Partizan Belgrade.
A significant share of his tally are goals in European club competitions - 11 (6 in the qualifiers, 5 in the main stages).
Sadio Mane finished second between African scorers with 33 goals.
