*It was 9th win for Gareth Southgate as England’s coach at major tournaments (World Cup and Euro): the new national record. Southgate surpassed Alf Ramsey (8 wins).

*England took 35 passes to build up their 6th goal (scored by Jack Grealish): the biggest number for any goal at the World Cup since 1966.

*In total, England have completed 737 passes vs Iran. There is only one game in the World Cup history with bigger number of passes made by one team: Spain (1008) vs Russia in the round of 16 of the 2018 World Cup.

*Marcus Rashford (England) scored 50 seconds after entering the pitch. It is the 3rd fastest goal by a substitute player in all World Cup history and the fastest since Richard Morales (Uruguay) goal vs Senegal in 2002.

*Jude Bellingham is England's second youngest goal-scorer at the World Cup (19 years 145 days) behind Michael Owen who scored in 1998 at 18 years 190 days.

*Bellingham became the first player born in XXI century to score in a World Cup.

*Bellingham became the 3rd youngest England player to start at a World Cup after Michael Owen in 1998 (18 years 198 days) and Luke Shaw in 2014 (18 years 347 days).

*Bellingham became the first player to score for England in World Cup  without having previously made his English top division debut.

*Bukayo Saka (21 years 77 days) -(PICTURE)-  is the youngest English player to achieve a World Cup brace and youngest at all to make a brace at his World Cup debut since Franz Beckenbauer (vs Switzerland on 12 July 1966, at 20 years 304 days).

*With Bellingham and Saka, England have 2 players aged 21 or under both to score in a single World Cup game for the first time in their history.

*With their total age of 40 years 222, they are the youngest pair of team-mates to score in a World Cup match since Scifo and Demol for Belgium (40 years 212 days in total) against the Soviet Union in 1986.

*Hossein Hosseini (Iran) is 2nd substitute goalkeeper to concede 4+ goals in a World Cup match after Dimbi Tubilandu (Zairу, vs Yugoslavia in 1974). They both have conceded 6 goals.

*The Netherlands (with the 2-0 win vs Senegal) are unbeaten in their last 14 World Cup group stage games.

*They are also unbeaten in all of their 16 matches since Louis Van Gaal began his 3rd spell as coach in September 2021.

*Van Gaal has now 38 wins as Netherlands coach surpassing the previous national record of Dick Advocaat (37).

*Gregg Berhalter is the first person to play for (2002) and manage (2022) USA at World Cup finals.

*USA (with the 1-1 draw vs Wales) have conceded goals in any of their last 18 World Cup matches against European opponent, last avoiding it in the epic 1-0 win over England in 1950.

*First USA World Cup goal in eight years thanks Tim Weah, the son of the only African player to ever win the BALLON D'OR (1995), George Weah, today President of Liberia. George Weah had never played at a FIFA World Cup final tournament.
