IFFHS ALL TIME RECORD GOAL SCORERS IN NATIONAL TEAM - EUROPE
Picture : Poul "Tist" Nielsen holds Denmark'srecord since 1925 !
All-time best goal-scorers of all European countries
We publish the list of players to own the goal-scoring record for each of 55 countries that are current UEFA members.
In 19 cases, the record holders of a national team are still active; they are taken in bold (including those few who finished their career in national team being still active in the club area).
In 7 cases, two or more players share the goal-scoring record; Gibraltar has as many as 4 co-holders who scored 3 goals (smallest record number among 55 countries).
Danish record is the oldest; Poul “Tist” Nielsen is still unbeaten despite his career ended up almost 100 years ago (in 1925); his record was though matched by Jon Dahl Tomasson.
