Players with most participations (including qualification): Matthäus and Co
Exactly 50 players in the history of the European Championships were able to play in 5 competitions (including qualifying and final parts). They are shown in the table. The very first who achieved this was the Irishman Johnny Giles in the Euro 1980 qualifying.
Four from this list managed to take part even in 6 campaigns. Lothar Matthäus was the first to do it (from Euro 1980 to Euro 2000), and the last one at the moment is Ildefons Lima (Andorra) who ended his international career in qualifying for Euro 2020.
