IFFHS CONTINENTAL NEWS - WOMEN'S CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE FINAL

AS FAR RABAT WINNER OF THE WOMEN’S CAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE

AS FAR Rabat are back on top of African’s women football. The Moroccan side defeated ASEC Mimosas 2–1 in the CAF Women’s Champions League final at the Suez Canal Authority Stadium in Ismailia (Egypt), winning their second continental title and avenging last year’s heartbreak at home against TP Mazembe.

The Moroccan women began quickly with Hanane Ait El Haj scoring in the 13th minute to take the lead. The Ivorian newcomers ASEC Mimosas equalized in the second half by Ami Diallo, showing determination in their first-ever final and participation (the club was founded before …3 years. !). Their valiant and formidable effort is a good sign for the future of women’s football in the Ivory Coast.. After a foul by Noura Diarra in the dangerous area, Zineb Redouani stepped up and calmly converted a penalty, giving AS FAR  the lead again and the final continental Trophy !

With this win, AS FAR have joined Mamelodi Sundowns in holding the record for the most titles in the CAF Women’s Champions League, with two wins each. Also, AS FAR have now qualified for the 2026 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup play-offs.
