MOST PROLIFIC EUROPEAN QUALIFIERS

Most prolific European World Cup qualifiers

The Portugal vs Armenia match (9-1) on 16 November was already the third in the 2026 World Cup qualification in the European zone to feature double-digit goals. This is more than in any other edition of the tournament in its nearly century-long history.
Another recent qualifier (9 September) between Norway and Moldova brought 12 goals (11-1) and became the joint-highest scoring in the history of the tournament. Previously, 3 matches were as prolific, all being played in last century.
Here is the list of World Cup qualifiers between European teams with a double-digit total of goals.
