São Paulo stop one step away from a Copa Libertadores record

LDU Quito's surprising 2-0 win over São Paulo in a Copa Libertadores quarterfinal on 19 September ended an impressive run for the Brazilian side.
Hernán Crespo's team had gone 17 matches unbeaten in the competition, a streak that had placed them among the best in its history, just 1 game shy of the record jointly held by Atlético Mineiro and Palmeiras (both 18).
São Paulo's last defeat in the continental tournament came on 4 April 2024, in the opening match of the 2024 Copa Libertadores group stage, when they fell 1-2 to Talleres de Córdoba at the Mario Kempes Stadium.
