SERHOU GUIRASSY'S FEATS
Guirassy’s international goal-scoring feats
Serhou Guirassy finished the 2024-25 season as the joint-top scorer of both Champions League (13 goals) and Club World Cup (4 goals).
His total 17 goals in major international club competitions is the world’s best rate for the season, just 2 goals fewer than the seasonal world record shared by Trésor Mputu (19 goals for Mazembe in 2007) and Rico (19 goals for Al-Muharraq in 2008).
However, Borussia Dortmund’s striker beat the record of this kind for Africans playing in a European club, set a year ago by Moroccan Ayub El-Kaabi (16 goals for Olympiacos).
Guirassy also lacked just 1 goal to reach the Radamel Falcao’s record for any players representing European clubs (18 goals for Porto in 2010-11, all in Europa League).
