Benfica vs Auckland City 6-0 (Group C)

*This Benfica’s win became the 2nd largest in history of FIFA club competitions (InterContinental Cup + Club World Cup), following the 10-0 of Bayern vs the same victim 5 daya ago.

Flamengo vs Chelsea 3-1 (Group D)

*For the first time in this Club World Cup, a South American team were behind on the scoreboard (0-1 via Chelsea’s Pedro Neto). It didn’t happen in all 8 games of CONMEBOL representatives before. 

*Pedro Neto gave Chelsea a half-time lead for the second consecutive Club World Cup game. Until this case, he never scored in two consecutive matches with his current club.

*Flamengo became the first team to come from behind (to win) against a European rival in an official intercontinental club tournament since Telê Santana's legendary São Paulo did it against Barcelona (from 0-1 to 2-1) in the 1992 InterContinental Cup.

*Flamengo are just the second South American team to beat a European side by 2+ goals at the Club World Cup after Vasco da Gama's 3-1 win over Manchester United on 8 January 2000. 

*Also, Flamengo is the first CONMEBOL club to score 3+ goals in a Club World Cup match against a European team in the XXI century.

*For the first time in 19 years, the CONMEBOL teams managed to win consecutive official matches against UEFA opponents (counting Botafogo’s 1-0 win over PSG).

Los Angeles vs Esperance 0-1 (Group D)

*CAF clubs have not lost any of their last 6 matches against CONCACAF teams at the Club World Cup (3 wins, 3 draws).

Bayern vs Boca Juniors 2-1 (Group C)

*These teams met officially for the 2nd time, after InterContinental Cup on 27 November 2001 won by Bayern as well (1-0, due to Samuel Kuffour’s goal in extra time).

*Bayern is the club that has played the most matches at the Club World Cup, boasting a 100% winning record: 6 wins in 6 matches (2 in 2013, 2 in 2021 and 2 in 2025).

*Boca Juniors became the first CONMEBOL club to lose at this Club World Cup, after South Americans’ 9-game unbeaten streak (6 wins, 3 draws).
