Ancelotti leaves Madrid as record holder for international trophies

Carlo Ancelotti leaves Real Madrid, the club that made him the new world record holder as a coach with most international trophies.
Having won the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and FIFA Intercontinental Cup with Los Blancos in 2024, he brought the number of international trophies achieved in his coach career to 14.
The Italian, who shared the top spot in the corresponding historical ranking with Pep Guardiola before, has now broken away from everyone by a considerable distance.
Giovanni Trapattoni became in 1993 the first coach in history to win 7 international trophies.
A year later, Telê Santana exceeded his achievement by one unit, and his record stood until 2022, after which Ancelotti and Guardiola sent it far into the sky.
Each of them has achieved multiple international trebles (taking all three possible trophies in a year): Guardiola - 3 times (with Barcelona in 2009 and 2011, with Manchester City in 2023), Ancelotti - even 4 (Milan in 2007, Real Madrid in 2014, 2022 and 2024).
The ranking took into account only major official trophies at the continental, intercontinental and global levels, both with clubs and national teams.
The next chance for Ancelotti, who starts working with Brazil, to add a trophy to his greatest collection will be the 2026 World Cup.
