MOHAMED SALAH IN HISTORY
Salah, the best ever non-British scorer in English top tier
Mohamed Salah became on 27 April the all-time best non-British goal-scorer in the history of English top division (since 1888).
The Liverpool forward netted his 185th goal against Tottenham Hotspur (5-1) as his team sealed the Premier League title at Anfield. He took the record from Sergio Agüero who scored 184 top flight goals between 2011 and 2021.
Salah is now also the best foreign (non-English) scorer specifically in the Premier League era (since 1992). In general, he is 5th on the Premier League's ranking, behind Alan Shearer (260), Harry Kane (213), Wayne Rooney (208) and Andy Cole (187).
The Egyptian scored his first 2 EPL goals while playing for Chelsea in 2014 and all the further 183 for Liverpool since joining them in 2017. Having signed a two-year contract extension with Liverpool earlier this month, Salah will certainly rise his record much higher.
The all-time best non-English scorer in the English top division is a Scotchman Hughie Gallacher (249 goals in 1925-38); the best overall Jimmy Greaves (357 goals in 1957-71).
