Dayro Moreno beats goal-scoring records at nearly 40

Dayro Moreno became the oldest player to score a hat-trick in the history of the Copa Sudamericana. On 22 April, the Colombian striker sealed the victory for Once Caldas against San José (3-2) in Bolivia during the third match-day of the group stage at the age of 39 years, 218 days.
Thus, he surpassed Brazilian Grafite, who achieved the similar feat at 37 years 179 days, scoring 3 goals against Independiente Medellín with Santa Cruz on 28 September 2016 (see the ranking below).
For Dayro Moreno, this was his first hat-trick in an international competition since 2014, demonstrating that his goal-scoring instinct remains intact and alive as one of the greatest icons of Colombian football.
Moreover, his hat-trick became the oldest ever in the history of major international club competitions in general (we will publish this ranking in few days).
This season, the veteran has already netted 11 goals in 19 official matches. Recently he made history once more surpassing Radamel Falcao to become the Colombian with the most goals. 
This happened just in the previous match-day of the Copa Sudamericana on 10 April vs Unión Española (2-0) in Chile the 353rd goal in his career.
