IFFHS AWARDS 2024 - ANNOUNCEMENTS
Since 1987, the IFFHS organize each year the votes and the statistics to crown the annual winners in all World categories. All the rankings are made for the civil year from January 1 to end of the year, not the season like Ballon d’Or votes.
The international jury is composed this year by members of the IFFHS (sport journalists, football experts) from 75 countries of all continents in the World . The Awards for the categories of the World’s Best Goal Scorers, the Club World Ranking, the World Best Clubs and the World Best Leagues are determined by IFFHS statistics ,recognized in the whole World.
The IFFHS was the first to create the Award for THE WORLD’S BEST PLAYER in 1988. Marco Van Basten (2) and Lothar Matthaus were the 3 winners (1988 to 1990) before FIFA President Sepp Blatter asked IFFHS this World Award to become FIFA World Player of the Year. Since 2020, the IFFHS has decided to award again IFFHS WORLD’S PLAYER OF THE YEAR and in 2021, also added the IFFHS WORLD’S YOUTH PLAYER OF THE YEAR !
