AYMEN HUSSEIN'S RUN

Aymen Hussein’s 10-game scoring run with Iraq

Iraq striker Aymen Hussein produced an outstanding scoring streak for his national team in 2024.
Over the course of 9 months, from 15 January to 15 October, he scored goals in all 10 Iraq games in which he took part (a total of 13 goals). The first 4 of these games were in the Asian Cup and the last 6 in the World Cup qualifying stage.
His run ended on 14 November when he failed to net against Jordan (0-0). Thus, Hussein left only 1 match short of tying the historical world record of Abdul Ghani Minhat (Malaysia): 11 scoring games in a row in 1961-62.
At the same time, Hussein's series is the longest of its kind in the XXI century.
The last to score for a national team in 10 consecutive games was the Czech Jan Koller (from 5 June 1999 to 26 April 2000).
