The statistics on 2024 Euro day 10 (23 June)

Switzerland vs Germany 1-1

*It is the fourth meeting between Switzerland and Germany at a major tournament, but just the first since the 1966 World Cup (5-0 for Germany in the group stage).

*Germany scored 8 goals in a group stage at a major tournament for the first time since the 2006 World Cup (also as hosting nation).

*Only two goals in Euro 2024 saw a scorer and assistant representing the same club: both from Switzerland and both with Bologna players:
Aebischer (Freuler assist) against Hungary,
Ndoye (Freuler assist) against Germany.

*Niclas Füllkrug has scored his 4th goal as a substitute at major international tournaments: more than any other European player.

*Füllkrug is now also the record-scorer for Germany coming from the bench.

*Dan Ndoye became Switzerland's second youngest goalscorer (23 years 242 days) in the history of the Euro, after Johan Vonlanthen against France in 2004 at 18 years 141 days.

*Manuel Neuer (Germany) made his 18th appearance at Euros, the most among goalkeepers in the history of the competition. He left behind Gianluigi Buffon (17), Edwin van der Sar and Rui Patrício (16 each).

Scotland vs Hungary 0-1

*Scotland are eliminated in the group stage in all 12 major tournament appearances:
World Cups 1954,1958,1974,1978,1982,1986,1990,1998,
Euros 1992,1996,2020,2024.
They are the team to have made the most appearances at the Euros (4) without ever reaching the knockout phase.

*Scotland had just 17 shots at Euro 2024 in total – the joint fewest by a nation in a group stage (since the group stage was introduced in 1980), along with Northern Ireland at Euro 2016.

*Kevin Csoboth’s winner, scored at 99 minutes 32 seconds, became the new latest goal in regular time in the Euro history.
