*Two of the first 4 matches of Euro 2024 have seen a side 3+ goals ahead at half time (Germany vs Scotland and Spain vs Croatia), as many times as this happened across all 16 previous editions of the competition combined (France vs Belgium 3-0 in 1984 and France vs Iceland 4-0 in 2016).
Hungary vs Switzerland 1-3
*Switzerland equalled their best ever win at Euro (3-1 vs Turkey in 2021).
*Switzerland have lost just one of their last 15 matches across all competitions (7 wins 7 draws), a 0-1 defeat to Romania in qualifying for Euro 2024 back in November.
*Kwadwo Duah is the 3rd player to score on his European Championship debut for Switzerland, along with Kubilay Turkyilmaz (1996) and Fabian Schär (2016).
*Hungary has started with defeat in 4 of the 5 editions of the Euro they have played.
*Barnabás Varga has scored 7 goals in his last 10 games for Hungary.
Spain vs Croatia 0-3
*Spain lost possession of the ball (47% - 53%) for the first time since the 0-1 friendly vs Germany in November 2014.
After that, “La Roja” had gone 111 games in a row without losing possession.
*Spain became the first side in Euro history to score 10 goals against a same opponent (Croatia).
*Álvaro Morata (Spain) became the first player in Euro history to score against the same opponent (Croatia) at 3 different editions (2016, 2020, 2024).
*Morata became the first Spanish player to score in 3 different Euro editions and the 4th Spanish player to score in 4 editions of major tournaments (World Cup and Euro), along with David Villa, Fernando Torres and Raúl.
*Morata has now 7 goals in Euro finals: the joint-third scorer in the history, along with Alan Shearer and Antoine Griezmann. Only Cristiano Ronaldo (14) and Michel Platini (9) scored more.
*Fabián Ruiz keeps unbeaten personal record with Spain: 15 wins, 9 draws in 24 appearances (he luckily avoided as many as 7 lost matches of national team during his streak).
*The age difference between Lamine Yamal and Luka Modrić (21 years 307 days) is the largest ever recorded between two opponent players in a Euro match.
The previous record was 21 years 139 days of age difference between Gábor Király and Renato Sanches in the game Hungary vs Portugal in 2016.
*Curiously, Yamal made his youngest ever assist to Dani Carvajal who became the oldest player to score for Spain in the Euros (32 years 156 days).
*Luka Modrić has taken part in his 9th major tournament (World Cup and Euro). Only two Europeans have played at 9+ different such tournaments before: Lothar Matthäus and Cristiano Ronaldo.
*Modrić equalled Cristiano Ronaldo as the only players to appear in 5 different Euro editions.
The Portuguese is expected to start his 6th edition on Tuesday, against Czech Republic.
*Croatia were 3+ goals down after 1st halftime only once in their history before, also vs Spain (0-3 on 11 September 2018; that game finished 0-6).

*Italy won their debut match in 3 consecutive Euros and in 4 consecutive editions of major tournaments (Euro, World Cup) for the first time in history.
*Italy are unbeaten in their last 10 games in Euros (2 in 2016, 7 in 2021, 1 in 2024), equalling their best streak in the Euros (they did not suffer defeats also in their first 10 games in the finals).
*Italy have come from behind to win after conceding the first goal at the European Championships for the first time since 2004 against Bulgaria (2-1).
*Albania coach Sylvinho is the only non-European coach at Euros. It was the Brazilian's first game in charge at a major tournament.
