-       FC Barcelona won his second consecutive UEFA Women’s Champions League title and his third in the last 4 years, beating record club Olympique Lyon (11 finals, 8 Champions League titles) in the final, due to two goals of the clubs Ballon d’Or, Aitana Bonmati and Alexia Putellas.

-       For the first time in Spain’s history, a club (FC Barcelona) won 4 titles in the same year 2024 (Champions League, La Liga, Copa de la Reyna, Supercup).

-       New record in Bilbao, where 50 827 spectators came to the final of the Champions League ! The last record was in München (2012) also with Olympique Lyon (50 212).

-       Barcelona lost already two finals of Champions League (2019 and 2022) always against Olympique Lyon, but this time, they took the revanche.

-       Olympique Lyon has played their 11th final in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. They won 8 titles and it is the first time since 2013 (contra Wolfsburg) that they lost again a final.

-       Lucy Bronze has now won 5 Champions League titles, 3 with Olympique Lyon and 2 with FC Barcelona. A total that Delphine Cascarino (6 titles) and Wendie Renard (8 titles) have surpassed only with Olympique Lyon.

-       Wendie Renard, Olympique Lyon’s captain, broke all World records. Olympique Lyon won in their history 38 titles since the beginning in 2006, Renard won all 38 titles and 8 Champions League titles ! She playefdthe full time of all 11 Champions League finals !

-       It was certainly the last match of Sonia Bompastor as coach of Lyon. Since April 2021, she took in charge OL, winning 8 titles in 3 years, becoming the first ever to win a Champions League title as coach and as player and captain. She will replace Emma Hayes in Chelsea…Maybe …

-       The BALLON D’OR Ada Hegerberg (2018), Alexia Putellas (2021 and 2022), and Aitana Bonmati (2023) were in Bilbao in the two best teams of Europe and certainly in the World.
