Lionel Messi has set several new records in the MLS game for Inter Miami vs New York Red Bulls (6-2) in which he was directly involved in all 6 goals of his team (1 goal and 5 assists).
Never before in his senior career he produced so many assists in a single game.
Never before in his senior career he directly contributed in so many goals in the same game.
His previous maximun was 5 goal contributions (GC), repeated 7 times.
These occasions are detailed in the table: G – goals, P – passes, SD – shot deflections (by crossbar in 29 April 2012 game, by keeper in 19 September 2017 game; in both cases, Messi’s team-mates sent into net the ball rebounded after his shots).
Also, Lionel re-wrote the record book of MLS where 5 assists and 6 goal contributions by a player in a game have occurred for the first time in the league history as well.
