Fluminense now awaits the winner of the second semi final to be played tommorow between Urawa Red and Manchester City.
Though the score line sounded one sided affair, in reality It was the hard fought battle at the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Following emphatic victory over Saudi favourite Al Itihad, the Egyptian outfit Al Ahly looked determined to book their place in the final. They kicked off the game by putting
Fluminense on the back foot. Percy Tau had few attempts at the goal, but failed to convert. Ten minutes before the half time, had Kahraba's header was saved by Fluminense custodian Fabio.
On the other hand, attempts by Ganso and Keno  hit the crossbar and both the sides had to settle for a goalless draw at the breather.

Marcelo effect

Right from the start of the second half, Fluminense displayed the Brazilian brand of football. Former Real Madrid legend Marcelo's experience paid off as he latched on to the cross from the right flank.  Following a nutmeg, as he was about to shoot, was  tripped from behind. The referee did not hesitate to award penalty and Jhon Arias made no mistake to put Fluminense a goal ahead.
Looking for an equalizer, Al Ahly pressed forward leaving gaps in the defence. Fluminense's John Kennedy dribbled at the top of the box before netting the left footer grounder in the net at 90th minute.
