THE WORLD'S BEST SERIAL GOAL SCORER 2023

The World’s Best Serial Goal Scorer 2023: Kevin van Veen

A Dutch striker Kevin van Veen has achieved the longest scoring run in the world top football in 2023. Between 4 March and 28 May, he scored in all his 11 appearances.
All those games were Scottish Premiership outings for Motherwell. Therefore, he 11-game streak was valid at same time for all 4 categories: total (all top level games), league, domestic (all domestic games) and club (all club games).
We should note that van Veen won the award with a “modest” result, as in the previous years there always were streaks of longer size.
However, not being a really high-profile forward, he became the first post-war player of Scottish top division to score in 11 consecutive games (he beat Mark Viduka who scored in 10 league games in a row for Celtic between November 1999 and March 2000).
Also, van Veen surpassed the very old Motherwell club record belonged to the legendary Hughie Ferguson who scored in 10 consecutive games 103 years ago.
Curiously, those 11 matches were the last for van Veen before leaving Motherwell. Straight after the feat, the Dutchman went home and joined Groningen from the second division. This means that his league series is not yet closed (as the low divisions are out of consideration) and can be prolonged when/if he returns to any top tier football.
In the meantime, in all other categories (total, club, domestic), he stopped his streak because he failed to score in the first game for Groningen in the Dutch Cup.
