-       Colombia will face England in their FIRST EVER quarter final at a World Cup, following their victory over Jamaica.

-       Catalina Usme with the winning goal entered in the IFFHS World’s Best Goal Scorers 2023 TOP 15 !

-       For their third participation at a World Cup, Colombia wrote History. After the Group stage in 2011, the 1/8 final in 2015, now already the quarter final !

-       Linda Caicedo , IFFHS World’s Best Youth Player 2022, and Ana Guzman, 18 years old both, played their third World Cup with Colombia after the U17 World Cup and the U20 World Cup last year !

-       Colombia is the second South America nation to finish first of their Group stage after Brazil.

-       France comfortably swept aside Morocco to reach the quarter final and face Australia for a giant game !

-       France scored for the 5th time in the last 12 matches more than 3 goals. Eugénie Le Sommer, France’s All time Best Goal scorer has now 92 goals and 8 at World Cup.

-       8 months after the France – Morocco at the Men’s World Cup, France won again at the women game.

-       Morocco played the first official women game in 1998 ! They made History to qualify for their FIRST EVER World Cup and also to reach the knockout round !

-       Morocco’s captain Ghizlane Chebbak, IFFHS Africa’s Player of the Year 2022, is the daughter of Legend Larbi Chebbak, winner of the African Nations Cup 1976.
