Celso Borges, a Costa-Rican midfielder, has appeared in the “Ticos” starting game on 2023 CONCACAF Gold Cup, today vs Panama (1-2), and thus equaled a competition record for the players to take part in most editions.
He became the 4th footballer in the Gold Cup history to play in 7 different editions. One of other three, Román Torres (Panama), is also still active but doesn’t play for his national team currently.
