Picture Dorlan Pabón, with a hat-trick for Atlético Nacional vs Melgar (3-1), became the second Atlético Nacional player to score 3+ goals in a Copa Libertadores match, after Albeiro Usuriaga who scored a poker against Danubio on 17 May 1989.


Copa Libertadores: statistics on group stage match-day 2 (18-20 April) 

*Pabón, very prolific at the start of this edition (5 goals in 2 games), is the 2nd Colombian player to score 2+ goals in each of the first two days of a group stage of the Copa Libertadores, after Leonardo Fabio Moreno in 2000 (2 goals against Colegiales and 3 against Rosario Central).

*Pabón raised his tally in Copa Libertadores Atlético Nacional to 12 goals in total. He displaced John Jairo Tréllez (10) as the second top scorer of the club in the competition, with only Víctor Aristizábal ahead (21).

*Argentinos Juniors, with 1-0 away win over Corinthians, continues to be unbeaten as visiting team vs Brasilian teams in Copa Libertadores. They have now 4 such games winning 3 of them (also 2-1 vs Vasco da Gama on 2 August 1985 and 1-0 vs Fluminense 3 days later) and tying 1 (2-2 vs Fluminense on 9 February 2011).
Argentinos Juniors are the only non-Brazilian team that never lost visiting rivals from Brazil in Copa Libertadores, having played at least 4 games.

*Flamengo, with 2-0 win over Ñublense (Chile), have extended 2 their streaks in Copa Libertadores: 21 consecutive games without losing at home (18 wins and 3 draws) and 22 games in a row scoring goals (longest such current streak in the competition).

*Pedro, author of both Flamengo goals in the game, has scored 14 in the last two editions of Copa Libertadores, twice as many as any other player for this period.

*Pedro, having now 18 goals in total for Flamengo in Copa Libertadores, surpassed Bruno Henrique and Zico (16 goals each) and became the 2nd  historical Flamengo top scorer in the competition. Only his current team-mate Gabriel Barbosa is ahead (28). 

*Junior Sornoza, with a goal for Independiente del Valle vs Liverpool (Uruguay), became the top scorer for Ecuadorian teams in the entire history of the Copa Libertadores (17 goals) surpassing Patricio Urrutia (16).

*Atlético Mineiro, with a defeat 1-2 to Athletico Paranaense, have ended their streak of 14 consecutive games without losing away from home in Copa Libertadores. It remains the 2nd best series in the history of the competition. The record belongs to Palmeiras (unbeaten in 20 away games in a row between 2019 and 2022).

*Barcelona (Ecuador), in the game vs Bolívar (2-1), have missed 2 penalties (Francisco Fydriszewski and Gabriel Cortez). The last time of missing 2 penalties by the same team occurred on 11 March 2020 (Nicolás de la Cruz and Ignacio Fernández for River Plate vs Binacional).
